One of my favorite childhood memories is sitting on the front porch of my aunt and uncle's house and watching fireworks. My dad and uncle would light them off as us kids, who could hardly sit still, would gaze excitedly into the night sky. The fireworks were followed by ice cream sundaes and us cousins chasing each other around the yard. This 4th I was once again surrounded by family. My brother and Wayne's visited us at our Hood Canal property. There was clam digging and oyster shucking, along with barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs. And, of course, potato salad! It wouldn't be a holiday without potato salad. It's a family staple. I hope your holiday was filled with fun, laughter, family, and plenty of potato salad.

I have began a new Knit One Bless Two campaign. Over the years with the help of my readers we have impacted the lives of several hundred thousand children around the world, who felt warmth, comfort and love from hand knit or crocheted items. One of the hardest logistical parts of this campaign is funding for shipping around the world. We will now be providing a place to give to Knit One Bless Two but with each purchase there will be a pattern as a thank you donated by a knit or crochet designer. This quarter we are featuring a mitten and hat pattern set from Rohn Strong.
