Happy New Year! 2022 has finally arrived. Wayne and I spent the holidays on a cruise in the Caribbean this year, our first cruise in two years. We've had four cancelled due to COVID. We enjoyed the sunshine and spending quality time together.
My word for this year is trust. I’m in a transitional place in my life as I ease into retirement. I’ve spent the majority of my life as a novelist and I’m unsure of what retirement will mean. Even if I’ll be able to make the change from a writer to something or someone else, I’m uncertain that I can let go of desire or need to create stories. It’s an issue of putting my trust in God and moving forward.
I’ve made another decision this year. In addition to taking a word for the year, I’ve decided to eliminate a word from my life. The word God put on my heart is clutter. It’s time to par down, clean out my house and donate the items I don’t need or use. As Wayne likes to remind me, it’s time to get rid of our dead relatives furniture! I read a quote recently by Randy Alcorn that said: God doesn’t look at just what we give. He also looks at what we keep.
Many blessings,
THE BEST IS YET TO COME

Savory salmon in a rich, creamy sauce comes together quickly thanks to some flavor-packed ingredients. We love to serve this with crusty bread to soak up the incredible sauce, but this would be delicious served over noodles, as well.
