Wayne and I are out at our weekend home on Hood Canal. We’ve dug clams and oysters and hunted down crabs all summer. Family and friends routinely stop by to share the day. I’ve been doing very little traveling, setting aside July and August to work on my next hardcover. After the gadding about we did in June, I enjoy the simple pleasures of home.
Wayne has a class reunion at the end of the month. He’ll be getting together with old friends and sharing memories. I’ve met up with a few of my own high school pals recently, in a quick trip to Yakima where I was born and raised. There’s little in life more fun than connecting with our childhood and teenage friends, laughing about the ‘good old days’ and catching up with each other. Those were the days and how quickly they flew by.
My hope is that your summer is filled with sunshine, old friends, and lazing on your patio with a gentle breeze, reading a good book.
